Was wondering if anyone on the board has had problems with FW400 drives and Panther.

I've been lucky, but there are reports that the FW problem extends to FW 400 in some instances.

My drives are in Digital Granite cases with Oxford 911s.

Some people have had problems with Oxford 900 bridgesets, which I've not heard of.

Any reports?

I have a Wiebetech Drive Dock, which is essentially an IDE-> FW 400 bridge which plugs into a raw drive. Great for swapping drives without the need to put into an enclosure. It works great with all my systems but refuses to be recognized on the G5 Dual with Panther. Emails to Wiebetech merely result in boilerplate responses to the FW800 issue. I only have two other FW 400 drives which I use mainly on the road with the Powerbook. They have exhibited no problems on the G5.

Ned:

Have you looked at the Wiebetech external FW 800 Bay Dock with individual bridges?

With their PCI-X board, this thing could really move.

At little pricey at $450 for just the enclosure, and another $80.00 for the board?
