western digital drive

I just got a WD 120 gb drive 7200 8mb. and i'm having problems. the video is not playing back for me. it's a new drive. If I take the media I digitize and put it on another drive and reimport it, it plays fine, so I know it must be the drive?
Are these western's any good? or does it sound like a bum drive and I should exhange it?

I need some help cause I'm starting a project tomorrow and I need the space tonight!!!

I have an WD 80 Gb with a 8 Mb buffer that I've used both as a boot drive and capture drive external and internally.

Hasn't caused any problems.

Have you run DiskWarrior on it?
