RAID-ing firewire drives...

Hi ~

I have a couple of external Firewire drives that I have RAID-ed using Disk Utility. They work fine, and to be honest I just did it because I have never done it before and was just curious if it would work.

Now that I know that it works, I was wondering if anyone had done this with external firewire drives before, and if so, did they notice any improvement in performance?

barefeats.com has a bunch of articles of RAIDing firewire drives.

The best solutions appear to have four independent firewire buses.

Also Wiebetech has a BayDock800 external that provides up to 105 MB/s as reported on the website.

For DV, this overkill, obviously.
