Hey All, Just a few questions.

Does anyone know of a good shootout article between a Dual G5 FCP sys and the upper level Avid systems? I read one by PC Mag that compared Avid Express Pro running on a G5 against a Dual 3ghz Xeon, if I remember right the G5 won.

I am an Avid editor, but I'm not here to start a flame war. I want to know how well a Dual G5 and FCP can handle HD/film content. How much rendering(waiting) has to be done. How much realtime can it handle? Facts like this.

The potential system I am looking at is:
Dual 23" Displays
Dual G5 2
2GB ram
250 GB HD
9800 Radeon PRO
Decklink HD
AJA IO (?)
720GB XRAID
FCP 4
DVDSP2
Combustion 3(when it arrives) or
Shake
Lightwave
MAYA (if I have any $ left)

Any thoughts on a system like this. Anyone using the AJA IO? This is an all in one machine bcs I am a small outfit. Any potential problems? BTW this was posted from a MAC I also use PC, if the tools get the job done...
Thanks,
NHP

For some capture card feedback, take a look at:

I would not think the AJA Io would handle HD. You need to look at the new Blackmagic Design HD card, the AJA Kona with HD option or the Pinacle Cinewave.
