Rendering speed on dual 1.8ghz G5

I just ran the rendering test on my new 1.8Ghz DP G5 (10sec clip, Guassian blur of 25, split clip in 2 and add a 5 sec dissolve). I got 9.5 - 10 sec.

I am very happy! My first new mac in 4 years!
OS 10.3, 512MB, FCP 4.1

Quick question: What system were you using before and what was the result with the same test? Thanks!

Before I was using an AGP G4 with a 1khz upgrade card (Upclocked to 1100mhz). The time was 51 seconds. I was running FCP 2.0 and OS 9.2

Somewhere on these forums is a compilation of different computers and their rendering speeds for this test.

It will show what increaes have occurred.

It is quite amazing.
