Help!! harddrive problem

i just had a power outage while i was capturing.when i power up again and os x starts to load it gets stuck on "waiting for local disks.when it finally loads everything the computer dosent see the external drive but it does see the internal drive.I have a dual 533,897 ram os x 10.2.6 with fcp 3.04. the external drive has been working fine untill now.its a seagate 160 gig.thanks

Go to the Disk Utility in the Utilities folder, and see if the drive appears there.

then choose "remount"

theres nothing there that says remount but the drive now appears on my desktop.thanks

You have to go the the File menu: File/Mount (or Unmount). It's not directly in the interface window.

In any case, glad it's working.
