Default Panasonic HVX short film

Hi folks,

I have recently completed the website, and trailer for my short film, shot with the Panasonic HVX200.

- 720p/24PN
- 960x720 1.333 23.976
- Stretched to 1280x720 1.0

The film was heavy on the visual effects, and thinking back to it, we should have shot in 1080i, to give the post production artists the room to breath.

Overall though, the project was a success. Filmed entirely on green screen, we shot for a single day in April, but have been in post for several months.

You can view the HD trailer here:

This was my first time using the Panasonic HVX, in fact, it's my first live-action short. It was a lot of work!

Looks awesome! Would love a chance to see the whole thing. Will it ever be for sale? As for 1080, your graphics folks would really need a higher color space, not frame size, to have "room to breath". 720 is just fine. The trailers look awesome. Wish I could see the full film start to finish. Great job.

Thanks for checking it out!

It was a pretty challenging project.

The artists used Maya, and Nuke, for art, and compositing, and the assembly was in After Effects, with .dpx images files.

Right now we're submitting Lazy Susan to festivals, to see where it leads. If all else fails, we'll distribute ourselves online. ;p
