Default Digital Cinema Preview Freezing

Mac Quad 2.66,3gigs RAM, Nvidia 120 GT video, FCP 7. output is HDV 1080i60. Have Digital Cinema Preview set up. Primary to 23 inch cinema display, mini display to Viewsonic HD tv by way of HDMI link. Can view still frames of video. When i start to play video. both picture freeze. You can hear the audio play in the background. When i stop the play head the video will show the refreshed picture of where the play head stopped. Why can't I get the video to play. thank you in advance for your help

Try clicking Shift-Z in the preview window.

I had a similar problem once when I was trying a new monitor connected to the Matrox MXO2 LE.
The setting in the FCP viewing was the HDV1080/60, and since in the timeline the video was working, I became crazy to try to understand why it was freezing the picture in the monitor...
after 10 minutes or maybe more and trying everything I could do, I realized that the project I was watching it was in PAL, I changed the setting in the FCP's viewing to HDV 1080/50 and the problem was gone.
I don't know if it could be the same for you but that was my experience.

good luck
