Pipeline Systems Architect

We provide a local presence for production and post-production with integrated, collaborative offices in Los Angeles, Vancouver and Winnipeg, New York, London, and Mumbai India.

We have an immediate need for a Pipeline Systems Architect to join our team in our Winnipeg Canada studio. This is a staff position. Relocation will be provided for the ideal candidate.

This Position is responsible for daily operation, support, maintenance and overall welfare of the central database. The System Architect reports to the Head of Pipeline.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

·Design and maintain the company-widedatabase architecture to be consistent with the vision provided by the Head of Pipeline.
·Unify multiple databases or data sources into the central database where it makes sense.
·Develop database systems and schemas that are robust, secure, and maintainable.
·Work with Pipeline Designers and Developers to implement new schemas or revise existing schemas for tools and workflows.
·Work with the IT department to define and implement database security and backups.
·Recommend best practices for code interaction with the database(s).
·Define and document procedures associated with the database architecture, security, and maintenance.
·Keep up-to-date on database technologies and threats.
·Carry out other pipeline-related responsibilities on occasion as directed by the Head of Pipeline.

Qualifications and Experience

·5+ years of SQL database design and administration.
·Extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
·Experience with Postgres and MySQL.
·Experience with .NET coding standards, especially C# (C++, Python, other language experience is a plus).
·Responds well to pressure, and work well in a team environment.
·Enjoys working with a diverse group of technical co-workers.
·Can learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
·Has strong organization capabilities and is detail oriented.
·Exhibits a flexible attitude and can manage his or her time effectively.
·Can prioritize effectively and zero in on the important tasks.
·Computer Science Degree or equivalent experience.
·Familiar with web technologies (ASP.NET, PHP, etc.).
·Has a well rounded knowledge of mainstream software packages (Word, Excel, etc.).
