Default Stabilization

I've been testing iStabilize. If there's a way to export it uncompressed, as a Quicktime/Final Cut movie(still not sure if there's a difference), I'm unaware of it. Before I spend the wad on FCP, I was wondering if anyone was aware of a stab program that exports uncompressed. I need to go back and forth between FCE and iStab for my workflow. Thanks.

FCE does not support uncompressed video. It only works in DV NTSC, DV PAL, and the Apple Intermediate Codec at standard frame sizes and frame rates.

I thought the Final Cut/Quicktime movie file was uncompressed. I guess I still don't understand video. Thanks for the help.

So just to clarify, when I use File>Export>Quicktime Movie... it is NOT compressed? Where do I find the compression settings?

If you export to QuickTime Movie it exports in whatever settings your media or your sequence is. If you export a clip from the browser and it's in DV it will remain in DV. If you export a sequence and the sequence is in the Apple Intermediate Codec, then that's what gets exported.

So do you know of any stab program that will export to the exact settings my sequence is? As far as I know it is AIC, although when I export from iStab to an AIC file, I get artifacts(banding) which I am assuming is from compression.

I don't know about the export options in iStabilize, but I assume it maintains the original media specifications. Banding is usually caused by quantization errors in using 8-bit compression. There are some ways around this in compression application, but they're probably not available in iStabilize.
